Job summary

Piston Tank Corporation in Missouri is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain tractor-trailers and other fleet vehicles to ensure safe, efficient operations. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs with emphasis on reliability and compliance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on troubleshooting experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulic systems, plus the ability to keep precise maintenance records and follow CFR

Qualifications

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulics is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures and CFR 49, Part 396 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractor-trailers and fleet vehicles.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Execute annual vehicle inspections in accordance with CFR 49, Part 396.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation of work performed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Job description

This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining tractor-trailers and other fleet vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience working with diesel engines, braking systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.

Major areas of responsibility include:
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractor-trailers and fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Execute annual vehicle inspections in accordance with CFR 49, Part 396; ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation of work performed
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Skills and Assets
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulic systems
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
