Job summary

Anne Arundel County Office of Personnel is seeking an Automotive Maintenance Supervisor within the Department of Central Services, Fleet Administration Division. This full-time, safety-sensitive role supervises skilled and semi-skilled mechanics in the repair of gasoline and diesel vehicles and county equipment.

The position requires arranging repair work, diagnosing complex malfunctions, and ensuring parts, tools, and safety practices are in place.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or vocational school.
• Four (4) or more years of journeyman automotive mechanic experience with supervisory duties.
• A valid commercial Class A license without air brake restriction.

Responsibilities

• Supervises mechanics and other workers in repair of automotive equipment.
• Inspects work, diagnoses faults, and directs complex repairs.
• Maintains inventory, orders parts, and ensures safety standards.
• Provides training and guidance to subordinates and serves as acting Automotive Maintenance Manager when needed.
