Job summary

Anne Arundel County is seeking an Automotive Maintenance Supervisor in the Department of Central Services, Fleet Administration Division. This is a Full-Time, Regular, safety-sensitive position supervising skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled mechanics responsible for the maintenance of gasoline and diesel powered fleet equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or vocational school.
• Four (4) or more years of experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic, including six (6) or more months of supervisory experience.
• A valid commercial Class A motor vehicle operator's license without air brake restriction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanics and other staff in maintenance of light and heavy-duty equipment.
• Assign repair requests, diagnose difficult malfunctions, and oversee work progress.
• Inspect tools, materials, and completed repairs; ensure safety and quality standards.
• Manage parts inventory, requisition supplies, and provide technical guidance to subordinates.
