Job summary

IndyGo, Indianapolis’ largest public transit provider, seeks a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to oversee represented maintenance staff and the upkeep of our fleet. You will manage repairs, ensure preventive maintenance, and help plan and document maintenance actions to keep our rolling stock in safe, reliable service.

The role requires 3–5 years in vehicle maintenance and customer service, a valid Indiana license, and the ability to lead in a union environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or an associates degree in automotive or engineering preferred.
• Three to five years of vehicle maintenance experience and customer service experience required, preferably in a union environment.
• Valid Indiana Driver’s License required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine, gather, and provide parts, tools, and labor for bus vehicle and equipment repairs.
• Supervise vehicle and equipment repairs; manage workflow and verify units are properly fixed.
• Ensure preventative maintenance, repairs, fueling, and cleaning of rolling stock are timely and thorough.
• Enforce departmental policies including work schedules and assignment of personnel.
• Complete paperwork and reports; document maintenance actions and close work orders.
• Provide support to mechanics and address inquiries or complaints.
