Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with trade apprenticeship or A.A. in Automotive Technology.
• ASE certificates in relevant categories are preferred.
• Forklift operator certificate within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical defects in district vehicles and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs at Lompoc Valley Center as needed.
• Overhaul engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and air conditioning systems.
• Conduct safety inspections and tune-ups; use scan tools and meters.
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain repair logs and equipment status data.
• Coordinate with facilities for scheduling maintenance and repairs.
