Job summary

Flathead Valley Community College seeks a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to repair and service the college’s heavy equipment, commercial trucks and trailers. You will diagnose issues, plan maintenance, create schedules, and ensure safety while coordinating with operations to keep the fleet ready for daily needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of vehicle/heavy equipment maintenance experience required.
• Valid Montana CDL with air brake endorsement preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical repairs to heavy equipment, trucks and trailers.
• Diagnoses repair and maintenance needs; schedules services.
• Maintains service records and prepares repair orders.
• Orders parts and coordinates with external shops as needed.
• Ensures safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Trains staff in operation and maintenance of equipment.
