CenterPoint Health - Georgetown is seeking a Lead First Assist (First Assist Surg Tech) to join our OR team in Georgetown, KY. This full-time days role supports surgeons, mentors perioperative staff, coordinates scheduling, and leads process improvements to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

You will work Mon–Fri 8a–5p, collaborate with anesthesia and nursing leadership, participate in education and policy updates, and help manage supplies and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• First Assistant certification required for this role.
• CSFA certification with NBSTSA/Surgical Assisting.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• BLS certification required within 7 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for Surgical Technologists, Surgical First Assists, and perioperative staff.
• Coordinate daily workflow and staffing for Surgical First Assists to ensure coverage and efficiency.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leadership, and perioperative staff to promote patient flow and outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance activities, and performance improvement projects within the surgical department.
• Provide day-to-day oversight for Surgical First Assist staff and assist with onboarding and competency assessments.
