CenterPoint Health - Georgetown is seeking a Lead First Assist (First Assist Surg Tech) for the OR. This full-time role necessitates clinical leadership, mentorship of surgical technologists, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

You will coordinate daily workflows, participate in instrument reviews, and support quality improvement initiatives while upholding standards for patient safety and cost containment.

Qualifications

• First Assistant (FA) certification required for this role.
• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) with NBSTSA.
• Associate's Degree preferred; program in discipline required.
• Current BLS from AHA or ARC within 7 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a clinical resource and mentor for Surgical Technologists, Surgical First Assists, and perioperative staff.
• Coordinates daily workflow and staffing for Surgical First Assists to ensure coverage and efficiency.
• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing leadership to promote patient flow and outcomes.
• Supports quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and safety programs.
• Assists with scheduling, call coverage, and operational issue resolution.
