Job summary

ZT Systems in Georgetown, Texas is looking for a Principal Firmware Architect responsible for architecting server and rack-level solutions for cloud computing customers. The role involves collaborating with customers on firmware architectures and driving adoption of development strategies.

The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, and a strong understanding of various firmware and security protocols.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of direct industry experience, with 10+ years with MS or 9+ years with PhD.
• Background as a Software/Firmware Architect focused on UEFI firmware.
• Experience coding for AMI and/or OpenBMC-based BMC firmware.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term hyperscale server firmware strategies based on customer needs.
• Collaborate with customers on new firmware architectures.
• Drive compliance with industry security standards.

Skills

Proficiency in AMI BMC FW, OpenBMC FW, HP iLO, Dell iDRAC, UEFI FW

Experience with DMTF standards: MCTP, NC-SI, PLDM, OVF, Redfish, SPDM

Knowledge of security protocols and Root of Trust

Strong background in Intel/AMD/ARM/GPU platform architectures

Working knowledge of server operating systems including Windows and Linux

Knowledge of virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, Microsoft

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Tools

AMI and/or OpenBMC-based BMC firmware

DMTF Redfish

UEFI firmware (BIOS)
