Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a Lead Fire Technician to provide service inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair for fire equipment including extinguishers, life safety gear, and detection systems. The role covers both shop and field work, with emphasis on accurate documentation and customer communication.

Candidate will perform pre/post job briefs, operate safety equipment, and travel as needed to customer sites, including offshore projects.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites, including offshore projects.
• Must obtain TWIC card and pass required safety training (e.g., OSHA 10).
• Must have Texas State Fire Licenses (FAL/FEL) and aim for NICET II within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment including extinguishers, gas detectors, suppression systems and related components.
• Completes all inspection/repair documentation with customer signature for invoicing and records.
• Conducts detailed visual inspections and functional tests; reports deficiencies and recommendations.
• Pre-job, job update, and post-job briefs to ensure clear communication.
• Assists with stocking, staging, and loading equipment for customer deliveries.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment and operates required PPE.
