Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is hiring a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on inspecting, testing, repairing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance and safety for occupants.

You will work with clients, contractors, and authorities to address issues, prepare inspection reports, and support maintenance and repair activities. Must have 5+ years' experience in service/installation and a valid driver's license with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in service/installation/maintenance/repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Solid understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 25 and related codes.
• NICET certifications strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems per NFPA 25.
• Prepare detailed reports of inspections, tests and deficiencies.
• Test system components: heads, valves, piping, pumps and controls.
• Inspect piping and fittings for corrosion, leaks or damage; suggest repairs.
• Perform maintenance: replace parts, clean components, lubricate, adjust settings.
• Inspect fire pump assemblies and test flow rates and pressures.
• Respond to service calls to diagnose and restore function.
• Document all activities in Service Trade platform.
• Coordinate with Deficiency Sellers to provide reports and estimates.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and coordinators.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per policies.
