Advanced Engineering Consultants (AEC) is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead the design and coordination of fire protection and life-safety systems for federal and municipal projects.

The role emphasizes deep technical expertise, mentorship of junior engineers, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure code-compliant, high-quality design from concept through construction documents.

Qualifications

• FPE license and 10+ years of fire protection design experience.
• Experience with fire suppression and fire alarm systems.
• ABET-accredited degree in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, FM Global codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Self-perform and mentor staff in preparing construction documents for fire protection systems.
• Coordinate with subconsultants to integrate fire protection requirements into broader building systems.
• Communicate technical recommendations to stakeholders and AHJs.
• Prepare design deliverables and response to RFIs during construction administration.
