Job summary
Stantec's Buildings team is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and coordination of fire and life-safety systems across diverse facilities.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to deliver compliant, effective solutions.
A Bachelor of Science in engineering (ABET-accredited) and a PE license are required, with up to 15% travel expectations.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited B.S. in engineering required.
- Strong fire protection design and life-safety knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with building codes and NFPA standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer fire alarm, detection, suppression systems.
- Develop life safety plans and deliverables.
- Provide life safety and building code consulting.
- Analyze smoke management and means of egress.
- Develop site fire protection features and access plans.
- Create code alternatives and Performance-Based Design studies.
- Coordinate with AHJs and insurance representatives.
- Collaborate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports for clients.
