The Department of Business and Industry in Las Vegas seeks a Financial Institutions Examiner 3 to lead the examination team and oversee day-to-day activities in financial institution examinations. You will coordinate team assignments, train staff, and ensure examination reports comply with agency policies and regulatory partners.

Responsibilities include planning exams, reviewing licenses, presenting findings to management and the board, and coordinating corrective actions under state banking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience conducting audits and/or examining financial records and reports.
• OR one year of experience as a Financial Institutions Examiner II in Nevada State service.
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsabilités

• Review an institution's prior examinations and documents to develop an exam plan.
• Ensure regulatory licensing compliance for depository, trust, lending, collection, 1031 exchange and money transmission entities.
• Conduct entrance and exit meetings with institution management to discuss findings.
• Review activities for compliance with laws and regulations; evaluate internal and external audit procedures.
• Analyze financial condition and ratios to assess solvency and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and assimilate reports, report findings and recommendations; coordinate corrective actions.
• Review, investigate and process licenses for new or renewing institutions; make acceptance/denial recommendations.
• Respond to inquiries and complaints from licensees and the public; perform follow-up investigations; take enforcement actions when warranted.
• Perform related duties and serve as a lead in examinations with CSBS/NASCUS specialty certification.
