Job summary

The Department of Business and Industry, Division of Mortgage Lending, seeks a Mortgage Lending Examiner 2 to conduct comprehensive licensee reviews across mortgage companies, escrow agencies, and servicers. Travel up to 85% statewide and out of state is required.

The role analyzes compliance with Nevada statutes 645A/645B/645F, financial statements, and records while upholding strict confidentiality. Qualifications include a bachelor’s in business/finance or equivalent with audit experience, or

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, or related field with 1 year auditing/financial-review experience.
OR Graduation from high school with 3 years of related auditing/financial-review experience.
OR one year of experience as Mortgage Lending Examiner I in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

Develop an exam plan by reviewing prior examinations and filings.
Lead entrance and exit meetings with institution management.
Prepare final reports with findings and corrective recommendations.
Assess applications for new/renewed licenses and respond to inquiries from licensees/public.
Monitor licensing of mortgage bankers/brokers/escrow agencies for regulatory compliance.
Schedule on-site and off-site examinations with financial analysis.
Reconcile ledgers and trust accounts, verify lien procedures.
Verify escrow docs align with title work and endorsements.
Perform related duties as assigned.
