Job summary

Primoris Energy Services in Haskell, TX is seeking a Party Chief to lead and supervise a survey crew, ensuring accurate surveying and compliance with project specs and safety standards. You will manage field operations, perform land surveys, staking, and data collection using GPS, total stations, and data collectors.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in land surveying, with 2 in a supervisory role, a valid driver's license, and proficiency with surveying software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a Party Chief or supervisory role.
• Proficiency with GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
• Strong understanding of surveying principles, practices, and calculations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to train and mentor junior crew members.
• Proficiency with surveying software and data processing tools.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and traverse rugged terrain.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to company and regulatory safety guidelines.
• Experience in energy services (oil & gas, pipelines) a plus.
• PLS or SIT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and train survey crew members on surveying techniques and equipment operation.
• Perform and oversee land surveying activities including topographic surveys, construction staking, boundary surveys, and as-built surveys.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of all collected survey data.
• Interpret and implement project plans, specifications, and design drawings.
• Communicate with project managers, engineers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain detailed field notes, sketches, and digital data.
• Perform calculations and checks to verify survey measurements.
• Adhere to safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field.
• Manage equipment inventory and ensure calibration and maintenance.
