Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Surveyor Party Chief to lead a survey crew in executing diverse surveying projects. You will oversee field operations, ensure data accuracy, and manage project schedules and budgets on-site.

The role demands strong leadership, deep surveying knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior crew members while upholding safety and quality standards across outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience.
• At least 2 years in a Party Chief role.
• Proficiency with total stations, robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data collectors.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or Carlson Survey is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work in various outdoor conditions and travel to project sites.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a survey crew in performing topographic, construction, boundary, and as-built surveys.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
• Interpret and implement survey plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Perform calculations and data analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of survey data.
• Maintain accurate field notes, records, and logs.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients regarding project progress and any issues.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations on site.
• Train and mentor junior survey crew members.
• Troubleshoot equipment and resolve field-related problems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
