Job summary

Archer Western, part of The Walsh Group, seeks a Party Chief in Burnsville, NC to supervise survey crew, perform topography surveys and field layout, and coordinate with the on-site jobsite survey manager.

You will oversee field surveying tasks, coordinate with the survey manager (offsite when needed), and maintain survey equipment while adopting data collection technologies. The team operates across Building, Transportation, and Water divisions with strong advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years verifiable experience preferred
• Lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

• Oversee field surveying tasks such as topography, field layout, boundary layout, and data collection
• Coordinate with survey manager, that may be offsite, and with project management staff for daily operations
• Provide care to survey equipment and understand usage of data collection equipment and upgrades to technology
• May be required to work as a one-person crew; May perform other related duties as required
