Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is hiring Survey Crew Chiefs to lead field crews across Central to Eastern Pennsylvania. You will oversee daily data collection for boundary, topographic, and construction layouts, while planning efficient field procedures and coordinating with project teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of surveying experience, strong technical and communication skills, and the ability to travel. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and professional client interaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of land surveying industry experience; crew chief preferred.
• Proficient with robotic total stations, GNSS, data radios, and 3D laser scanners.
• Strong math and technical abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a land surveying crew for daily field data collection (boundary, topo, construction layout).
• Plan efficient data acquisition for field surveys from control to as-built surveys.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and project specs.
• Communicate project schedules and progress with PMs and engineers.
• Interact professionally with clients and landowners, and document notes.
• Maintain equipment and prepare daily reports and timesheets.
