Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC is seeking a Survey Crew Chief/Survey Party Chief to lead field crews across Central to Eastern Pennsylvania. The role involves supervising data collection for boundary, topo, and construction surveys, coordinating with project managers, and delivering accurate field notes and reports.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of industry experience, proficiency with Trimble equipment, and strong communication skills. Local PA candidates preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient in data collection, notes, and field documentation.
• Experience operating surveying equipment and field data capture.
• Ability to travel/stay out of town as needed.
• Local Pennsylvania candidates preferred unless relocation is possible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a land survey crew for daily field operations (boundary, topo, construction layout).
• Determine efficient data acquisition plans for field surveys.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and project specs.
• Communicate with project managers, engineers, and technicians about schedules and progress.
• Interact professionally with clients and landowners.
• Anticipate, prevent, and solve problems within authority.
• Document field notes, sketches, and communications clearly.
• Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and paperwork.
• Maintain survey vehicles and field equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
