Job summary

Rockwell Sterling is seeking an experienced project superintendent for the Greater Phoenix area to lead field operations on large water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

You will oversee subcontractors and site personnel, develop schedules, coordinate drawings and field activities, monitor costs, manage risks, and maintain safety and quality across the project, reporting to project management and ensuring OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of construction experience.
• Experience as a superintendent or field leadership role.
• Water/wastewater project experience (treatment plants, pump stations, underground infrastructure).
• Strong scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
• Ownership mindset to drive field operations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day field operations.
• Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Coordinate drawings, specifications, subcontractors, and field activities.
• Monitor project costs and identify variances.
• Identify project risks and implement solutions.
• Maintain strong quality control across the project.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and productive jobsite.
• Complete daily reports, logs, and timekeeping.
• Coordinate closely with project management and other members of the project team.
