Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to perform on-site troubleshooting and commissioning of LV and MV drive systems at customer locations across the United States.

You will develop and document commissioning procedures, lead customer training, and collaborate with service, parts, and product engineering teams to drive reliability and up-sell GE parts and services.

The role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and about five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of progressive field services/commissioning experience for power domains.
• Experience with low/medium voltage drives (SD7000/MV7000), VFDs, MCCs, PCCs; Ethernet/Profibus/Modbus.
• Willingness to travel 85% and work remotely from anywhere in the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site troubleshooting for variable speed drives to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Commission LV and MV drives and document commissioning procedures and tests.
• Lead on-site project management and provide technical leadership to customers.
• Provide customer training on drive operation and best practices.
• Coordinate with service, parts, sales and product engineering to identify upgrades and opportunities.
• Support bidding and installation activities for CMU projects and ensure customer satisfaction.
