Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking an experienced electrical field professional in the Lewisville, TX area to lead technician teams in the field and ensure reliable maintenance and testing of customer equipment.

You will perform high- and low-voltage testing, mentor technicians, and engage in safety-driven field operations under supervision. Strong driving record and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Electrical Power or military equivalent preferred.
• NETA Certification II or higher preferred.
• OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with team members.
• Strong customer focus with professional communication.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading jobs and service technicians in the field.
• Represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Assist with developing proposals, performing job walks, and defining work scope to meet customer needs and requirements on reliability, preventative maintenance, and NETA testing of customer equipment.
• Performs mentoring, training, and guidance to other team members in advanced electrical skills and maintenance practices.
• Assume responsibility as assigned and act on own authority under direction of the Project Manager.
• Complete a field service safety checklist on every job to identify and mitigate job hazards.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage (to 500kV) electrical systems, and moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
• Instrument transformer tests.
• Power transformer testing - Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
• Test both electro-mechanical and solid state relays.
• Cable testing - Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.
• Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
• Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel locally and overnight.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required, willingness to be on call.
• Work safely alone and as part of a team.
• Closely adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
• Effectively contributes to a strong team environment through assisting teammates in accomplishing mutual goals.
