Job summary
CORE Group seeks a Lead Field Service Engineer – Automation to oversee the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced automation systems in marine and industrial environments.
He/she will travel up to 85%, including aboard vessels and shipyards, lead technical field activities, develop documentation, and train customers to ensure safe, reliable operation.
Qualifications
- 3+ years hands-on experience in automation or control systems field service in marine or industrial environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 85%, including short-notice assignments.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field.
- Experience leading small technical teams is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot automation and control systems at customer sites.
- Lead or coordinate technical field activities across vessel construction, modernization, and offshore projects.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, commissioning records, and service reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to customers on automation systems and interfaces.
- Collaborate with engineering, support, parts and service teams to drive project success.
- Support control-system upgrades and modernization activities.
- Offer after-hours or emergency technical support as needed.
