Job summary

Sonnen Inc. in Massachusetts seeks a Project Engineer Lead to drive field operations for Virtual Power Plant deployments. You will lead teams, train partners, and manage projects with up to 75% travel, focusing on design, installation, troubleshooting, and warranties.

This role requires strong leadership, deep product knowledge, and proactive customer collaboration. Responsibilities include coordination with R&D, documentation in Salesforce, and ensuring high-quality, on-time project delivery

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical product experience in solar/electronics/tech industries.
• Experience in residential/commercial construction industries.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proven track record in team management.
• Hands-on experience with power electronics or electrical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-quality, time-bound projects.
• "Problem Solver" mentality with the ability to resolve difficult problems.
• Highly organized with clear scheduling, reporting and documentation.
• Ability to translate complex technical information for non-experts.
• Desire to build deep partner relationships and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Travel to visit partners and job sites within the assigned territory.
• Provide technical training, installation and design support, and system troubleshooting.
• Resolve technical cases to maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Assist inside operations and guide the team from a supervisory level.
• Construction-related project management duties on assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain project documentation and reports.
• Maintain relationships with R&D to grow product expertise.
• Document relevant activity in Salesforce and other tools.
• Manage team members and staffing as assigned.
• Provide staffing and resource oversight at direction of supervisor.
• Other duties to ensure high quality, proactive service.
