Job summary

MECO Heneghan, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to support civil infrastructure projects across the St. Louis and Illinois region. The role involves on-site inspections, documentation, and collaboration with senior staff to ensure adherence to project specs and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of field inspection experience in civil construction and OSHA 10 certification. Travel to multiple job sites is expected; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field inspection experience in civil construction.
• OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily on-site inspections of construction activities (pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities).
• Observe and report methods, materials, and workmanship for conformance with plans and specs.
• Document construction progress with photos, measurements, and daily inspection reports.
• Support field testing of materials (concrete, soils, asphalt) under supervision.
• Identify non-compliant work and report to senior staff; ensure site safety plans are followed.
• Attend site meetings and participate in RFI/submittal tracking as needed.
