Job summary

Kiewit in Port Arthur, TX seeks a Field Engineer to support planning, organizing and implementing project engineering and controls for heavy civil construction projects. You will contribute across site prep, earthwork, paving, drainage, and utility work, working with a team in a dynamic, safety‑driven environment.

The role focuses on interpretation of drawings, quantity takeoffs, job hazard analyses, and coordination of field operations with office engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent construction experience with 6+ years in heavy civil construction.
• Must understand CPM scheduling, cost control, change orders, and document control.
• Strong communication, leadership and planning skills; willing to travel and relocate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations and measurements to determine completed work.
• Prepare work plans, packages, and JHA's for field operations.
• Coordinate field surveying, as-built data, and labor timesheets.
• Support estimating, purchasing, and cost reporting activities.
