Job summary

Kiewit in the South Central District seeks a Field Engineer to handle contract administration, project planning, scheduling, quantity management and cost controls on highway and heavy civil projects.

The role requires mobility across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas with responsibilities including field supervision, reporting, safety participation, and coordination with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field is required.
• 3–5 years of construction field/office engineering experience supporting concrete or civil ops.
• Able to read, analyze and identify discrepancies in drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Willing to travel and work at varied sites and environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interpretations of drawings and specs for field crews and supervision.
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages.
• Supervise field surveying, elevation control points, and as-built data.
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets and JHA's.
• Participate in safety reviews, toolbox talks, and training.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate field work groups on site.
• Perform material takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Prepare data for submittals to customers, vendors, and regulators.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts; assist in solicitations.
• Maintain schedule updates and basic project records.
• Report data into the cost system and review cost reports with site management.
• Generate change orders and review as-built data with Project Manager.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
