Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager to lead field execution for an asset integrity program in the Chicago area.

You will coordinate field teams, contractors, and client personnel to ensure safe, efficient repairs aligned with project goals, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations. This on-site role requires translating inspection findings into actionable repair scopes and growing a scalable repair service within a programmatic asset management environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent field experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in construction coordination or industrial repair execution.
• Experience in asset-intensive industries such as power, oil & gas, refining, or manufacturing.
• Strong field leadership, scheduling, and logistics management.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and construction documents.
• Willingness to travel to regional client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate field execution of repair and construction projects, including follow-up work from inspections.
• Serve as primary field contact, ensuring alignment with scope, safety, and client expectations.
• Plan daily field operations, including access, scheduling, logistics, and sequencing.
• Track progress, budgets, schedule performance, and communicate status to leadership.
• Coordinate repair and construction activities across multiple structural, mechanical, civil, and asset integrity scopes.
• Support QA/QC, field reporting, and project closeout records.
