Job summary

unitekexternal seeks a mid-level to senior Splicer/Fiber Technician to perform aerial and underground fiber installation, splicing, and documentation. You will work with DWDM meters, OTDRs, and related test equipment, and may lead field operations as a foreman or lead technician. Expect travel and standby rotating duties.

You should have 2+ years in cable construction, 2–4 years splicing, and strong knowledge of fiber standards, safety, and site plans. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in cable construction or engineering
• 2–4 years splicing experience in telecom or utilities
• Familiar with fiber testing equipment
• Basic English comprehension for safety

Responsibilities

• Terminate, splice, and install various fiber connectors and enclosures
• Proficient with fusion splicer, power meter, and OTDR
• Read and update splice documentation and maps
• Ability to travel and stay overnight within coverage area
• Perform aerial and underground construction activities
• Climb ladders on poles and use outdoors equipment
• Maintain safety procedures and PPE
