Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. is hiring a Fiber Splicer to join our team and maintain telecommunication networks by fusing optical fibers. The role involves splicing, testing, and troubleshooting installations while adhering to industry standards, with responsibilities spanning from underground to aerial work.

A strong emphasis on safety and accurate documentation is required. Qualified candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a DOT

Qualifications

• Must meet safety requirements and follow industry standards.
• Six months splicing or one year in telecommunications experience.
• DOT medical exam and valid driving license required.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned
