Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Optima, OK is seeking an experienced Feed Mill Assistant Manager to support daily operations of the feed mill. You will supervise production employees, oversee production, quality, costs, and safety of the mill, and implement GMPs across the plant.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, comfort with automation systems, and proficiency in MS Office; a preferred BS in Feed Science and 4+ years of related experience. On-site role with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Ability to understand automation systems including mechanical and/or electrical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate all routine reports and correspondence. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel etc.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Determine work assignments, establish or adjust work procedures to meet plant or production schedules.
• Oversee procedures to verify conformance to high quality standards per current GMPs.
• Understand flow of all materials and SOPs across all areas of the feed mill; operate all mill areas and automation systems.
• Review daily usage and inventory; investigate and correct discrepancies.
• Suggest improvements to production methods, equipment performance and service quality; implement corrective actions.
• Train new employees: plan, assign, direct work; appraise performance; address complaints.
• Document and follow up on employee or operating issues.
• Maintain collaborative relations with supervisors, peers, and customers.
• Prepare various reports and delegate duties to staff.
