Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Optima, OK is seeking a Feed Mill Assistant Manager to support the Feed Mill Manager in daily operations, supervising production staff, overseeing production flow, quality, costs and safety.

You will learn and operate automation systems, review daily usage and inventory, train new employees, and prepare reports, with a focus on collaborative relationships and timely problem-solving.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to understand automation systems including mechanical or electrical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel etc.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Determine work assignments, establish or adjust work procedures to meet plant or production schedules.
• Oversee procedures to verify conformance to the high standards of quality as established by GMPs.
• Learn and understand the flow of all materials, incoming and out-going, and the standard operating procedures of all areas of the Feed Mill.
• Must be able to operate all areas of the feed mill and understand automation systems.
• Review all daily usage and inventory; investigate and correct discrepancies.
• Train new employees: plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; discipline as needed; address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Timely and accurately document and follow up on any employee or operating issues.
• Maintain collaborative working relationships with supervisors, peers, subordinates, internal and external customers.
• Prepare various reports and delegate appropriate duties to subordinate employees.
