Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Optima, OK seeks an Assistant Feed Mill Manager to support the Feed Mill Manager in daily operations, supervise production employees, and oversee quality, costs and safety.

You will learn the full flow of materials, work with automation systems, review inventory, and help implement improvements while training new staff and coordinating with supervisors and external customers.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• Ability to understand automation systems including mechanical and or electrical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate all routine reports and correspondence. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel etc.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Determine work assignments and adjust procedures to meet production schedules.
• Oversee conformance to GMP quality standards.
• Learn and understand the flow of all materials and automation systems.
• Review daily usage and inventory; investigate discrepancies.
• Recommend improvements to mill and transportation production methods, equipment performance and quality; carry out corrective actions.
• Train new employees: plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; discipline of employees as needed.
• Document and follow up on employee or operating issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain collaborative working relationships with supervisors, peers, and internal/external customers.
• Prepare various reports and delegate appropriate duties to subordinate employees.
