Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (PE) to lead federal projects in the Washington, DC area, guiding teams and ensuring delivery to UFC/UFGS/IBC standards. You will coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and interdisciplinary offices to drive successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of USA federal project experience, US citizenship, and a PE license. Willingness to travel up to 20% across the U.S. is required. Arcadis offers a clear growth path within a global leader.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience related to USA Federal Government projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure in the United States. Multiple state licenses preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Experience producing Issued for Construction design packages for federal agency facilities.
• Experience with design/build project delivery method.
• Strong experience with Federal Design Criteria (SpecsIntact and WBDG).
• Strong structural analysis and design skills.
• Strong, effective communication skills for presentations and documents.
• Functional knowledge of AutoCAD/REVIT, Autodesk Construction Cloud, RISA, STAAD Pro.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned engineering programs and initiatives.
• Work directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project life cycle.
• Excellent working knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC) with federal standards (UFC, UFGS).
• Organize and conduct structural-related investigations, develop calculations, plans, specifications, proposals, and contract documents.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior and mid-level structural engineers.
• Travel and participate in project-related activities, such as client meetings, charettes, and site visits.
