Job summary

Laukoa seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead Hawaii-based federal construction projects, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget targets while complying with UFC and EM 385-1-1 requirements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in field superintendent roles and 5+ years on federal contracts with strong coordination of stakeholders and client relations. A valid driver's license is required, with installation access possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction superintendent experience.
• Minimum 5 years managing federal construction projects, including USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, or other federal clients.
• Experience leading projects valued between $5 million and $50 million.
• Thorough understanding of federal construction contracts, sequencing, scheduling, and quality management.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain installation access.

Responsibilities

• Direct all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
• Develop and manage project schedules, including short-term look-ahead plans and daily work activities.
• Ensure all work complies with contract documents, project specifications, UFC requirements, EM 385-1-1, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Lead project safety efforts and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct daily coordination meetings, safety briefings, and subcontractor planning sessions.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts, design issues, and schedule impacts while minimizing project risk.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and final turnover requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, manpower logs, production tracking, and schedule updates.
• Work collaboratively with the Project Manager, Quality Control Manager, SSHO, designers, subcontractors, and Government representatives.
• Support project planning, change management, schedule recovery efforts, and successful project execution.
• Maintain a professional, organized, and client-focused jobsite.
