Job summary

Laukoa is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on federal construction projects in Hawaii. You will manage day-to-day construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance per UFC and EM 385-1-1.

The role requires a proven field leader with extensive federal construction experience and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including government clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction superintendent experience.
• Minimum 5 years managing federal construction projects (USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, or federal clients).
• Experience leading projects valued between $5M and $50M.
• Understanding of federal contracts, sequencing, scheduling, and quality management.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Direct all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and field personnel.
• Develop and manage project schedules, including short-term look-ahead plans.
• Ensure work complies with contract documents, UFC, EM 385-1-1, and codes.
• Lead safety efforts and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct daily coordination meetings and safety briefings.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts and schedule impacts.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning and turnover.
