Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Colorado seeks a Lead Facilities Technician to oversee daily facilities maintenance, guide a maintenance team, and support HVAC/MEP systems with strict safety and regulatory compliance. You will mentor staff, help develop SOPs, and coordinate with contractors on projects to maintain safe, efficient patient environments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in technical maintenance, 2+ years in healthcare facilities, and BAS experience, with a HS diploma and preferred technical

Qualifications

• 5 years of technical maintenance experience
• 2 years of healthcare facilities experience
• BAS experience preferred
• Experience leading a maintenance team or managing projects preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance activities for assigned facilities and coordinate staff to ensure timely completion of maintenance
• Serve as primary contact for contractors, vendors, and Facilities team during maintenance and project work
• Apply advanced HVAC and MEP knowledge to perform hands‑on maintenance and support regulatory and safety standards
• Identify skill gaps within the Facilities team and recommend training opportunities
• Assist Supervisors in developing and maintaining SOPs for mechanical and electrical systems
• Ensure all work follows policies and procedures including MOP, ICRA, ILSM, SOP, and IFU
