Job summary

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Lebanon Correctional Facility, in Lucasville, Ohio, is hiring for a permanent full-time facilities maintenance and inspection role. This position leads inmate crews and performs skilled repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds work to keep the facility safe and operational.

You will conduct routine inspections, respond to emergencies, manage tool inventories, and participate in committees while adhering to agency safety

Qualifications

• Formal arithmetic and basic English reading/writing skills required.
• 12 months of maintenance repair experience or training.
• Valid commercial driver's license required for motor equipment.
• Possession of S-130/S-190 basic firefighter course may be substituted for experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead worker over inmates or staff in semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair work (electrical, carpentry, grounds keeping, plumbing).
• Repair and install electrical fixtures, outlets, switches, motors, and related components.
• Perform carpentry repairs (doors, locks, cabinets, floors, walls, windows).
• Repair plumbing equipment (pipes, fixtures, pumps, valves, toilets, sinks).
• Perform interior custodial duties (mopping, waxing, cleaning).
• Carry out exterior grounds keeping and snow removal.
• Inspect buildings and equipment for needed repairs; perform preventive maintenance.
• Operate machine tools and welding equipment for repairs to metal parts.
• Maintain tool inventories and secure handling of tools.
• Assist in related job crafts as required; control inmate movement; conduct searches.
• Respond to emergencies; attend meetings and trainings; participate on institution committees.
