Job summary

Harvard University Central Administration seeks an Area Maintenance Supervisor to lead a multi-trade team delivering mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and maintenance services across the campus. You will liaise with facilities managers to align responses with customer needs and drive high-performance building operations with an emphasis on energy efficiency.

You will oversee safety, training, and vendor management, while developing preventive maintenance programs and accurate project proposals for

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts state trade license or Mass Maritime degree/related training/experience.
• Minimum five years’ experience supervising trades personnel in a complex university environment.
• Experience with computer-based mobile preventive maintenance systems required.
• Valid driver’s license; Massachusetts license preferred.
• Engineering degree or technical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and supervise a multi-trade team to repair and operate complex building systems.
• Set standards for quality, inspect work, and ensure safety and compliance.
• Manage attendance and performance to meet unit objectives.
• Diagnose equipment and systems to optimize performance and energy use.
• Maintain CMMS work orders, ensure accurate descriptions and timely completion.
