Qualifications

• Six years of full-time directly related experience in industrial or public facility maintenance, two years of which must include journey level experience in one of the listed trades.
• Requires a journey level license as electrician or plumber or certification in carpentry, HVAC, or welding.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a lead worker to Building Maintenance Worker I/IIs, custodians, and inmate workers; assigns work to staff; monitors work to assure proper completion.
• Performs carpentry work in remodeling and maintaining facilities.
• Maintains operation of commercial mechanical systems and basic maintenance of HVAC, boiler, plumbing, and related systems.
• Performs electrical maintenance in a commercial environment and repairs light fixtures, switches and motors.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and plans to perform tasks.
• May perform welding and metal fabrication work.
• Orders and maintains supplies, equipment, and inventory.
• Responds to department requests for setting up rooms for events and moving equipment.
• Assists in snow removal, landscape maintenance, outdoor lighting, painting, carpentry, and custodial functions.
