Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to manage facility operations, maintain building drawings, and oversee major upgrades. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure safety, compliance, and optimal performance of HVAC systems, utilities, and laboratories.

The candidate should have a strong engineering background, 4+ years of experience in large capital projects or facility upgrades, and familiarity with GMP environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; 4+ years of engineering/operational experience.
• Works on problems of complex scope across disciplines.
• Demonstrates judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine actions.
• Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains relationships with collaborators.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain the building drawings database including building/equipment drawings, Turn Over packages, manuals & specs.
• Integrate financial data with technical details; analyze interdisciplinary problems for business impact.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on plans, budgets, schedules, and inspections.
• Oversee maintenance and relocation of facilities, office/lab spaces, and equipment.
• Provide after-hours support during emergencies and manage HS&E policies and safety procedures.
