Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer in the San Antonio area to support the Chief Engineer in overseeing building operations, maintenance activities, and vendor performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered
• HVAC certification is appreciated but not required
• Valid Driver's License
• Experience working in a critical environment is required
• Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred
• Meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting 50 lbs+
• Innovative mindset to develop methods beyond existing solutions
• Ability to solve unique problems with standard and innovative solutions
• In-depth knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organizational skills and mathematical aptitude

Responsibilities

• Manage shift operations, assign work orders, and train coworkers/subcontractors
• Review tenant service request summaries to identify recurring issues
• Develop a preventive maintenance program for machinery and systems
• Inspect systems to ensure operational parameters are met
• Maintain inventory and schedule downtime to minimize business interruption
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance; document work
• Respond to emergencies and request additional help as needed
• Share expertise and mentor others across multiple disciplines
• Lead by example and promote CBRE values in daily work
• Contribute to process improvements and new approaches across teams
• Communicate complex ideas clearly to stakeholders
