Job summary

Thales Group in Orlando seeks a Principal Certification Engineer to lead FAA certification strategy and execution for complex IFEC programs. You will manage certification planning, STC packages, and regulatory compliance across lifecycles, interfacing with FAA, ODA, and airframe manufacturers.

You will mentor teams, drive process improvements, and oversee external consultants to ensure consistent certification standards and on-time delivery across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; 10+ years FAA certification experience.
• Experience leading certification strategy and execution for complex STC/Type Certificate programs.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead certification strategy across multiple programs.
• Serve as primary certification contact for STC projects with FAA and airframe manufacturers.
• Lead and manage STC project execution: planning, documentation, and package development.
• Provide governance and review of design data, installation drawings, and substantiation.
• Influence product design by integrating certification requirements early in development.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary certification and test efforts with internal and external teams.
