Job summary

Acron Aviation in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Lead Avionics Certification Engineer to lead certification activities for avionics systems and aircraft modifications across commercial and military platforms.

The ideal candidate has extensive FAA regulatory experience, develops certification plans, coordinates with FAA Certification Branches, DERs, and ODA units, and mentors junior engineers while guiding process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 9+ years of experience in aviation certification, aircraft modifications, avionics integration, or aerospace systems engineering.
• Experience supporting or obtaining STCs, TSOAs, PMA programs, or major alteration approvals.
• Experience working with Part 23, Part 25, Part 27, or Part 29 aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Lead certification programs from concept through FAA approval.
• Develop certification strategies for avionics systems and aircraft modifications.
• Serve as primary interface with FAA Certification Branches, FSDOs, DERs, and ODA units.
