Job summary

Peregrine Avionics LLC seeks a Certification Engineer to support FAA STC projects across all phases, working with design and analysis engineers on certification data and compliance documentation. Knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft modifications is essential, with coordination among designers, certifiers, maintenance facilities, and FAA designees.

The role requires an engineering degree and 2–12 years of FAA certification experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2–12 years (required) of FAA certification experience.
• Experience with FAA certification processes (STC, DO-160, TSOA, PMA, Major Alterations).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with FAA Part 23 and Part 25 regulations and procedures.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and aircraft manuals.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%).

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze project requirements.
• Develop project-specific certification plans and compliance checklists.
• Prepare compliance documents for STC projects with substantiation reports.
• Create STC design/data packages including systems and drawings.
• Coordinate FAA conformities for prototypes and testing programs.
• Create test plans for STC showings, including ground and flight tests.
• Assist or lead on-aircraft ground and flight testing of new systems.
• Support certification for product obsolescence replacement components.
• Mentor junior certification engineers as appropriate.
