Job summary

Acron Aviation in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Lead Avionics Certification Engineer to lead certification activities for avionics systems and aircraft modifications across commercial and special mission platforms. You will serve as a technical leader, developing and executing certification strategies for STCs, TSOs, and major alterations, coordinating with FAA offices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
9+ years of experience in aviation certification or aerospace systems engineering.
Experience supporting or obtaining STCs, TSOAs, PMA programs or major alteration approvals.
Experience working with Part 23/25/27/29 aircraft and FAA processes.
DER/DAR or FAA certification experience; ability to interface with FAA personnel and ODA management.

Responsibilities

Lead certification programs from concept through FAA approval.
Develop certification strategies for avionics systems, aircraft modifications, and new product installations.
Serve as primary interface with FAA Certification Branches, FSDOs, DERs, and ODA units.
Prepare, review, and approve certification documents (Plans, Checklists, Papers, MCCs, FAA packages).
Lead STC certification efforts for surveillance, flight/data recorders, and displays avionics product lines.
Mentor junior engineers and support audits, FAA evaluations, and continuous process improvements.
