Job summary

University of Central Florida is seeking an Export Control Manager within the Office of International Collaboration and Export Control (OICEC) to lead a team of professionals navigating federal export control regulations. You will guide faculty, researchers, staff, and administrators to ensure compliance and mitigate risk across the university’s research portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
• Experience in export control–related compliance and related U.S. government regulatory or compliance environments.
• Experience working within a university, higher education, or similarly complex institutional environment.
• Experience in preparing licensing applications to the U.S. Departments of Commerce and/or State, including familiarity with federal electronic systems for export licensing and trade transactions (e.g., BIS SNAP‑R, DDTC DECCS, Customs ACE).
• Experience with conducting restricted party screenings and an intermediate knowledge of restricted party screening tools such as Visual Compliance or similar tool.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and present training material to individuals and groups of colleagues and stakeholders.
• Master's degree in science, engineering, computer science, public policy, law, or similar field.

Responsibilities

• Compliance Review: Conducts export assessments of research and non-research activities under supervision and provides regulatory and compliance advice.
• Agreement Review: Manages staff conducting export control proposal and agreement reviews (e.g., research, NDAs, data use, MOUs, MTAs).
• Program Administration & Recordkeeping: Drafts and implements export compliance protocols and trainings; maintains databases.
• Licensing & OFAC: Prepares and submits license applications; assists with OFAC compliance.
