Job summary

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of UCLA is seeking an Export Control Analyst to support the development, implementation, and administration of the campus export control program.

Reporting to the Director of Export Controls, the analyst will participate in license determinations for complex transactions, including deemed exports for visa beneficiaries, and provide guidance on federal/state regulations to campus stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills to convey ideas clearly
• Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students across campus and with UCOP
• Ability to prioritize work amid fluctuating workloads and changing priorities
• Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Demonstrated independence and follow-through on assignments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web browsers, and email programs
• Audit/compliance experience preferred; knowledge of university processes helpful
• Knowledge of current export control regulations is desirable, but trainable

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, and administration of UCLA export control program
• Participate in license determinations for transactions, including visa-related reviews
• Provide guidance to campus community on export control and sanctions regulations
• Work independently with limited supervision and escalate non-routine actions to supervisor
