Vortex Companies in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Dig Superintendent to lead field crews performing excavation and utility repairs, including sewer and stormwater point repairs, manhole work, and site restorations. You will plan daily activities, supervise crew, ensure safety, quality, and equipment care in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires reading plans, coordinating labor and materials, tracking progress, and communicating with the project manager.

Competenze

• Experience in underground utility construction and pipe repair.
• Experience supervising field crews as foreman or superintendent.
• Knowledge of sewer and stormwater systems and manhole work.

Mansioni

• Plan and supervise daily field activities and assign personnel/equipment.
• Lead excavation, backfill, compaction and restoration work.
• Supervise manhole adjustments and installations.
• Direct clearing and grubbing and site access prep.
• Review plans and site conditions before starting work.
• Coordinate labor, materials, and subcontractors with the PM.
• Monitor quality and address issues before completion.
• Track daily quantities, hours, materials, and conditions.
• Communicate progress/changes to the PM.
• Train crew members and enforce safety expectations.
• Ensure equipment is inspected and operated by qualified personnel.
• Lead daily safety briefings and enforce OSHA requirements.
• Verify utility locates and safe exposure of utilities.
